because they never did anything of substance and were just peons with hardly anything upstairs to help them think. They hardly took initiative or anything else other than followed orders. When they couldn't take it anymore, they left or they continued in, whichever. How can people like that be responsible?
But those who willingly decided to join a cult, they are, whoever those may be? I wonder how many people knew they were joining a cult, I suspect none.
