Hey Ray:

If you were a high level leader in the family, (I am not really sure who you were or I did not pay attention), perhaps you might consider the following point.

In some cases people have to excuse themselves from involvement in assessing or judging situations. Maybe you have to consider excusing yourself from assessing the issue of dismantling the family. I say this becauses you were a major leader and not speaking out with all that you know, but affecting others with your views on the boards, could be seen as a conflict of interest.

I certainly can respect to some extent your hesitation to speak formally in the public eye to spare your family. It is a very serious thing to do and has notable side effects on any individual who steps out into the public eye.

Most top leadership really lived in a family within the family. The inner circle had their pressures and difficulties but not in any way to the level that the rank and file membership experienced. The victim count and abuses alone seem serious enough to warrent dismantling all of the family.

As with officers of the court, who are expected to recluse themselves from involvement in cases or decisions where there is even a perception of a conflict of interest, you might consider doing the same and excusing yourself from the debate. I value your input most times but not in this case. In all honesty it is a struggle to consider your views creditable on this issue as I understand you were a major leader who has not yet come forward. There are no easy answers to this issue, that is for sure. It is a true ethical and moral delemma for anyone to work through. There really is no personal gain or "worth" for anyone , apart from the moral and ethical side. I am not envious of the choices you are faced with regarding this process. I have seen other leadership struggle with stepping forward and watched how much it cost them to do so.

Sincerely

Rocky
