nothing wrong with questioning the motivation or origin of things but knowing one's biases helps. I come from what you call the judeo-christian perspective and think that homosexualism is not right but being aware of that helps me keep my eyes open and not generalize for judgement.

That one thinks homosexuality is wrong doesn't make one more or less homophobic just like thinking that the catholic church is wrong makes them anticatholic. There are many examples about other groups, including the family, I can come up with but I am sure you could too. Being critical does not make one anti- because there are many dimensions to consider. It is our personal choice to pick the dimensions we want to see.
