The prophecy was the "financial power" prophecy published '93-'94. The F was going to become so successful it would become a "financial power". Well, it still hasn't happened and the term financial power ended up becoming byword with a lot of F members, even a joke..., especially F young people. I remember in the not so distant past, (I left the F in June last year), how we'd laugh about the "financial power" side of things when it was time to pay the rent or when we compared our 12 yr old VW van to the brand new 4-wheelers that other organizations tooled around.
However sometimes young people didn't talk jokingly about it. They felt bitter and short changed because that financial power reality they heard about as 10 or 11 year olds was something they really believed was going to happen. My son, 5 yrs later as a 17 yr old when he needed good equipment and the like for his music, which we couldn't afford, was angry, dissappointed, and blamed us and the Family that we were liars to say the F was going to become a "financial power". He finally left the F before my wife and I finally decided to.
(Another thing about our son's decision to leave the F....In 1999 when he was 16 we asked if he wanted to stay in the F or do something else. He said he'd decide after Y2K, to see first if the predictions the F's published about Y2K were really going to happen. Well nothing happened and later Zerby published things about how it the changes in world events were behind the scenes changes and spiritual changes. That wasn't a good enough explanation for my son, and he left the F. Just like with Kohoutek, there was a copout--"we didn't really predict all that stuff was going to happen, and a lot did happen, it just wasn't visible with the human eye".)
