Up to Family leaders to give DB any credibility

No one of us on this board can really rescue any worth in DB's legacy. Below I was asked if I’d never gotten drunk and confessed
my sins--I had mentioned that DB was totally drunk when he did “Let’s Talk About Jesus”. I can't claim credibility for anything I ever
did when drunk. Why give any credibility to DB? According to Peter, he kept on drinking well into his old age. I heard king P say this
publicly at the Moscow meetings in summer ‘97. Apparently DB did not stop drinking until a couple of years before he died...my
wife, who works in geriatrics, can tell you lots of stories about how old age ailments and old age medications are about the only
thing that can get the alcololics in the rest home where she works to NOT be able to drink anymore. That might very well be the thing
that stopped DB's drinking--old age and medicines.

Something else about DB’s alcoholism: Don't tell me that God never gave him an opportunity to join AA! I'm convinced He did. One
thing about a drunk: I can have sympathy and nothing but understanding for the alkie who's never had a chance to go into a 12 step
recovery program. But for the drunks who refuse to even try, or for the ones who had recovery and gave it up and went back to the
sauce and ALL THEIR OTHER EXCESSES, I have nothing but sad disgust. DB's true legacy is pitiful. That's all there is to it.

IF THAT LEGACY IS TO CHANGE IT'S UP TO FAMILY LEADERSHIP! THEY COULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! If someday
the F and F leadership came up front with the real truth on DB, officially calling a cat a cat and a drunk a drunk and a pedophile a
pedophile, and stopped giving him the phony leadership role that he supposedly still has via the so-called heavenly messages in
the GNs--THEN they could republish and perhaps officially qualify what was a good Bible class and good teaching from all the rest.
I'd buy that. But until then NEVER! I can't bare to look at one single word he ever published--even any good stuff. LET THE FAMILY
LEADERSHIP COME CLEAN ON ALL THE WRONG THAT'S BEEN DONE FIRST, AND THEN LET THEM MAKE A 100%
EFFORT TO MAKE AMENDS, REPARATIONS, AND ATONEMENT--EVENTHOUGH ALL THE BAD CAN'T BE UNDONE! I’d
have to respect the effort, and it would completely change my current feelings and view of the Family and what it stands for.
