You will notice I also suggested a mixed discussion.
Why not all mixed? Some people suffered things to extremes in which they may be more toxic than supportive to each other in a mixed environment if the people that show up have lots of things to sort out regarding their own internalized damage.
Of course, if there is interest in only one kind, then one kind will be all that is responded to. I don't run anything here! :)

In many support groups and therapy groups which are not cults, this is recognized. So people have a variety of groups available to attend.
Again it is an individual thing.
