The poster above mentioned incidents that are for the most part recognized as facts. The States did support those regimes. What he/she is trying to show is that that U.S. has a history of taking unsavory military action, so is asking why is this war different? If you disagree with his/her assessment, it might be better to cite your own logic to counteract it, not call his/her loyalty into question. That's making the issue too personal instead of sticking to the larger issues. An example of an excellent argument is the post that started this, with human rights advocates spelling out what Saddam has done. Those things can't be argued.

I don't mean to be preachy or bossy, but there are exmembers on both sides of this argument and if we can stick to the main issues instead of personal issues then this board won't become a casualty of the war.
