You asked: "Why are you so angry? I know but it may help you think about it and work out your problems." Actually, I'm not angry per se, I'm simply attempting to be straightforward with my thoughts. If I come across as angry, it's because we are not speaking face to face, and it's very easy to misunderstand a person's temperment on a posting board. Perhaps I misunderstand your tempermant also.
You said: "From reading your posts I can see you are a positive thinking person but this war is affecting your health and misleading you in ways you will never be the same again." My health is perfectly fine (I'm not sure why you think it's not). I'm not sure why you think the war is misleading me. In order to be misled I would need to be traversing a path different than the one I've tread before, and as far as Conservative thinking about politics, war, etc. I've always been a Conservative. So logically, this war isn't leading misleading me, as it hasn't changed my mind about anything.
You said: "Look at yourself wanting to kill people now in the name of some good will." Where have I said that I want to kill people? Supporting a war is not a desire to kill people. If you think it is, then you are wrong. There is a difference between 'wanting to kill people' and supporting a war! It's my belief that there is a just war. People get killed in wars. However, just wars are waged to relieve oppression and set people free. It's unfortunate that some innocent people die in a war, but in order to control evil in the world (and there is evil in the world), and in order to keep evil regimes from getting too powerful and to keep them from expanding their evil beyond their borders, then war is sometimes necessary. If you disagree with this, I would be interested in what you thin is a better solution. I'm not saying there isn't a better solution, but I havn't agreed with another solution I've heard yet.
You said: "You are a scary dude, or dudette, whatever." Why am I scary? Because I don't agree with you? Because I believe in a just war? Because I believe it's OK to kill someone in selfdefense, or in the defense of other people? If that's the case, then you are the scary one, because I certainly wouldn't want to be your friend when I was in dire need of help, or if my kids were in dire need of help. I certainly wouldn't want you as the President of my nation--- because you would not be a fit leader. A fit leader is willing to use war as a means of defending his own people, or the downtrodden of another nation. Someone who finds repulsive to use military force isn't a friend of the oppressed. Also, 3 out of 4 Americans (according to current polls) also support this war. They support the fact that people have died on both sides. This means that the majority of Americans think similarly to me regarding this war. This means that if you do not agree with this war, you are in the minority. You must be horrified to be living among so many scary dudes and dudettes.
You said: "Why do you get so angry about true facts?" Which true facts are you speaking of? My true facts, or your true facts?
You say: "You can try to hide the sun with a finger but it won't work." I'm sorry, but this quote evades me. Is there some deep hidden wisdom that I'm missing in this quote?
You said: "You call me a socialist because I call the government to take care of its people before somebody else's people, that is nonsense and even plain crazy." Well, if you have the right to assume someone is a racist for supporting the war, I suppose I have the right to assume someone is a Socialist for not supporting the war. But, I don't assume you to be a Socialist on one particular thing. I'm making assumptions about you, which I will not mention them all, as it would open a can of worms that would that would get this conversation no where. My point in calling you a Socialist is this: You seem to use Euorpean (Socialistic) thinking in your posts. European thinking believes in the Equality of people, whereas American thinking does not. Let me explain: American thinking says "All men are created equal," but they are created equal in the eyes of God. They equally have the right to pursue happiness. This doesn't guarantee everyone a higher education. It doesn't guarantee everyone free health care. It doesn't guarantee a lot of things. To get 'things', a person should have to pursue them, and the government isn't necessarily responsible to fork over things to Americans, simply because they need them. That's not the government's job. It's the responsibility of the citizens to 'pursue happiness.' We are the ones who need to pursue higher education, good jobs, etc. WE DON'T BELIEVE IN EQUAL RIGHTS. WE BELIEVE IN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY. Europe on the other hand believes in equality. It says, basically, that some one should be the same; the wealth should be spread around; people should have free health care, etc. etc. This is European, Socialistic thinking, and not American thinking. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE. If this is insanity, then blame our fore-Fathers, and not me.
You said: "What I find curious is that you call me socialist and then suggest that I am liberal too."America has increasingly become more liberal over the past four decades, and it's the liberals who advocate Socialistic ideas. If you look up the definitions of Socialism and Liberalism in a good dictionary, you will see that the two are not contradictory. Then, if you really think about it, you will realize that the Liberals are the new Socialists of this country.
You said: "I wish you find peace sometime in your life and stop being so confused thinking you can read people's minds." I don't think I can read another person's mind. But, like any other person, I atempt to understand another person, and I get impressions of a person from what they say. I certainly hope that you also find peace sometime in your life! In actuality, I am at peace in my life...a little stressed from too much to do, but in my heart and mind I am at peace. I'm at peace because I know what I believe and why I believe it. I also believe I have logical reasons for believing the way I do.
You said: "What is that verse in the memory set, from Daniel, about thou shalt find peace to those who ... you probably remember." No, I don't remember. I actually read the book of Daniel the other night, but this verse escapes me.
