To me that is the most basically obscene doctrine of the Children of God. That is that the children are brought up to believe and do only one thing and that is to serve and obey in the F. They are never given the freedom to make normal human choices - the opportunity to make up their own minds what they want to do with their lives - because the only things they are aware of is F life. As Andrew pointed out in his post above all outsiders and their lives are portrayed as being evil.

The only thing I can think of that parallels this is the way Islamic women are raised and treated. They have no opportunities or the chance to make up their own minds.

I thought it was interesting on the NDN board the discussion about the "Teen Revolt" where the teens finally freaked out and held the adults captive at knife point. I sure would like to find out some more about that as it seems that the kids were given more freedom after that.

The Pennsylvania Dutch (Mennonites?) let their kids completely off the hook at the age of 16 and expect them to go nuts for a year (drinking, smoking pot or whatever) and then make up their minds about continuing in their parents religion.

What kind of missionaries are they (the F) producing when the kids really have no freedom of choice?

My own kids, strictly raised in the F since the age of 14 and introduced long before that are now in their late 20's and with ever growing families of their own. As they face the pressures of real life I believe they will finally face personal crisis that will cause them to leave. When they do they will be scarred for life.
