The interesting transformation I've been watching has been in my own wife. She left the Family in 1980, moved in with me, and went on to a conventional married life and didn't look back.
But, when she hit the ex-member websites, things really started to come up for her. She has changed a great deal in the last two years, and confronted a lot of beliefs she held as truth.
It was kind of like she was in suspended animation for almost 20 years, then suddenly woke up.
