as far as summit jewels goes, wasn't that just meant for the eyes of a few top leaders?correct me if i'm wrong here, but if i recall correctly, my kids who were still in at the time, had never seen it.it seems to me they were shocked by it. so i do not think something that was supposed to be hidden from membership could be construed as "official policy". [When I was writing my orignal post I thought that maybe someone will raise the point that Summit Jewels was for top leaders. I thought of getting into that, but I didn't, since I didn't want to get into too many details. But since you brought it up, as you may know the essense of what was discussed was made into a DO publication, I forget the GN number, maybe 555. Maybe the title was, well, I can't remember at all. Anyway this letter made it into the hands of Judge Ward and he and some other court official or whatever he was dismissed it as unacceptable. I don't know who gave that letter to the Judge, but when I read it I was surprised as to how much was shared about this subject to the DO. The part about fondling kids sexually was not there, but there was a lot there and the message was clear, it's not all wrong. I aslo don't know if you have heard the story that in 87 in the Phippines Maria was arguing in favour of telling the Media that there is nothing wrong with incest but Appolos changed her mind. Millikan sugested to berg to stop the sharing and Berg reacted with some very strong letters saying he would rather die than deny the law of love. One of the titles was someting like "Where can we go but up" if I remember correctly. That was contemporaty or pretty close to when the Summit Jewels was written and that letter that came out from it. All that to say, from what I remember that DO letter was rather close to telling it like it was as far as what they believed concerning those practices they had to stop for the sake of expediency. Again and again in other letters as well it is explained, nothing wrong with the Law of Love, but the systimites can't handle it and will kill us if we don't stop so we order you to stop and if you do it you are excommunicated not that there is anything wrong with having sex with your siblings or you mother or father, etc. Sam Ajemian]
