well, looking back on my own life, i think there was certainly alot of compartmentalisation. i called it "rounding off the edges." i would try to reinterpret things in a more broadly acceptable way in my own mind. but most of the time, most of life was just what you had to get done to function. i mean how often do people focus in on heaven in the moon, or sex w/ grandmother? i was thinking more about the rent, the dish schedule, the demerit chart etc. only when there is a convergence of emotional, spiritual and physical circumstances does one finally allow oneself to really examine it w/ any kind of critical eye. and then, the conscious and subconscious realities of your family, and the risk of losing them,etc...makes it hard to let yourself begin to face the shocking reality.frankly, i consider it something of a miracle..and a work of "the Spirit of truth." yelling louder is not the key to getting thru, imo anyway. gb.
