Yes Gideon committed suicide in 1979 I think. He was virtually exiled after the RNR and had his wife and child taken away from him and stolen by his best friend. He was a very sensitive guy and suffered from depression in and out of the Family. But of course the Family considered that he had a problem with the 'devil'. (didn't we all).
He was a beautiful friend and I miss him. Such a waste of life. I don't have any tapes of his songs but he did write some beauties. I know after he died Mike just considered them his.
