It was interesting what Cherish (bless her)said about the way the Family dealt with illness.

I had planned my escape from the Family six months before I left (I had to plan it carefully as I was in a foreign country with 2 babies and no access to money. Even though I was earning lots of money escorting I never saw a cent of it).

Two weeks before I was due to go both of my children got dysentery and were desperately ill almost to the point of death. I begged my husband to take us to a doctor but he consistently refused. I was beside myself with anguish. Finally, and if I believed in God I would thank him for this mercy, a national sister in the home took pity on me took us in a taxi to a foreign doctor. She translated for me and we got some medicine for the kids. They gradually came back from death's door and were just strong enough the make it onto the plan. I cradled their limp bodies in my arms for thirteen hours with a three hour stop over sitting in an airport. They didn't have the strength to move. When I walked through the airport gates my mother rushed into my arms. She took one look at her precious grandchildren and burst into tears. They were skinny, pale and lifeless. But we made it. Until that moment I didn't dare think that we were finally free.
And this is the Family of LOVE??
