I remember the area shepherds in Dehli telling me, just after we arrived there in '87, that es-ing was the "lifeline'. TF there had their own unlisted escort agency. Total strangers could get a Family telephone number from one of their friends, then phone, and arrangements would be made for an adult female Fam member to meet them. If I remember right this was daily 24/7 service in both Bombay and Dehli.
