Burning & shredding photos of loved ones

I was just curious as to how anyone would have so many photos. Obviously he got out of the group before photo-burning was instituted. Weren't those creepy days? Having to burn photos of loved ones, mates, children, etc. because they would become an idol instead of King David "who represented God to us".

And of course, there were the security reasons for burning photos of loved ones, too. If ever there was a raid, we wouldn't want the authorities to know that we had either wives or children. It might be the final damning evidence that we were a sex cult.

I'll go take a look at the photo gallery, though it won't make up for the only copies of precious photos I was forced to burn and shred.
