We're all trying to be Good Samaritans

Matt, did you ever think about the power of what Jesus means about the 'GOOD Samaritan'? Because in the Jews' day all Samaritans were bad and impure and weak sisters and not 110%ers because they didn't worship God the exact way that the selfrigheous Jews did down at the temple in Jerusalem. The Jews thought this gave them the right to look down their noses at the Samaritans. They wouldn't even walk through Samaria. The Jews would take an extra day to keep 'pure' by walking all the way around Samaria.

To the Family, WE are like the Samaritans, the weak sisters, the backsliders. That's how they judge us. But that's the judgement of the self-righteous who think they're better than others because they think they have a corner on God. But Jesus pointed out that the so-called 'good' Jews weren't really serving God, but the Samitans who reached out to help their fellow man were the ones really serving God.

You don't need to belong to any elite 'serving-God' club to be a Christian approved by God. Jesus sees how you're helping others and He loves and appreciates you just like the Good Samaritan in the story he told.
