Freeatlast, I know how painful that was, to be separated from your own kids, sometimes within the same household, and then being expected to raise the kids communally. That is so very destructive to all involved. I am glad you got out with your family. I got out before the camps started, but there were types and shadows of that from the beginning. I am glad that I am close to my kids and that they managed to get their lives together and are educated with good careers. This would not have been possible if I had stayed in.
I remember thinking I was wrong for leaving, but at the same time knowing that I needed to get away because I felt on that edge of sanity where it seems to be about to slip away. It is so sad to see the fallout of the lifestyle practiced in the Family. But good to also see the healing once on the other side. My youngest son will be getting married in January. He is a senior designer with a large company, and his wife is a flight attendant. Things looked dismal for a lot of yrs. after leaving the family when they were young and we were all poor without extended family, but we made it thru and past that. There is life after death!
