Good question & people may not answer in a public forum like this for various reasons. Privacy and avoiding re-victimizing SGs is sometimes one of them. For example, I was witness to a young girl going on a 'date' with a grown man & had a chance to talk to her some time ago now many years after the fact, & she remembers this childhood abuse too. She is dealing with it & processing it & like Jules pointed out, she has ownership of her own story. For this reason I'm not about to go public with what I saw.
As one who was an adult at the time, I'm left trying to figure out why I didn't know at the time that such things were wrong. Yes I should have realized & spoken up & yes I should have left the Family when the Story of Davidito came out.
Another reason is that maybe a lot of this stuff happened behind closed doors & the abusers weren't doing it openly.
