Things to be concerned about

Unfortuneately, it's nothing to joke about or put down as paranoia anymore. There are actually lots of things to think about, but it's hard to explain it all here. Some day soon I should write an article about these matters.

It's really a lot to get into and I don't have time now, but one thing can lead to another. For example, has Jewlz been communicating with some other ex-member regarding sensitive info? Does she keep email addresses? Passwords? Sensitive info?

The Family actually does have some access to technical sophistication. I've seen evidence of this in encryption methods, and other things I'm not at liberty to get into. Some of this expertise does exist in their ranks, I've met such people in The Family. And if this expertise is not found in their own ranks, they could easily buy it. If they are willing to go to bed with Scientologists, gangsters, lawyers, you name it, they are willing to go to bed with hackers.

They used to be separate groups, but nowadays hackers, spammers and virus people have all teamed up. It's pretty sophisticated stuff they're able to do, at not too high a cost. The family could use people like that, or learn from them.

Being as brief as I am here, you might not get the full picture of how important it is to take the advice of the others who have posted here.

Suffice it to say, if Jewlz doesn't really care about her own privacy or security, she should just make sure that she doesn't use the same computer for communication with other people who might want their IDs or stories or info kept private.

Sorry to be so mysterious, and I hope you won't write it all off as paranoia.
