Stuff on hard drives

Yeah, I think what a lot of us do is keep sensitive stuff on our hard drives & then go all over on the Internet even clicking onto Family websites (which allows them to zero in on our computers), then thinking we're safe. I try to keep all personal & sensitive stuff on floppies & only stick them in my computer as needed. You can only do so much without going overboard but it's astonishing how many people don't even do the basics yet think they're safe.

I never click on Family websites even when people say go see what they put up now. But here's a question. I have my browser set to reject all cookies, so could I go to a Family website & look at their junk just for fun, reject their cookies & be safe? Or does merely the fact that I've dropped in on their website give them a trail back to my computer?
