As you've written it there is the potential for real misunderstanding. You asked, 'But regarding your recent posts, do you think you would feel differently if your own parents weren't still in the cult?' While it may not be what you intended, it seems that you are asking if Jules & Albatross feeling so strongly is partially due to unresolved issues with their own parents - whereas I think it is plain that their anger is due to the sexual abuse of minors that they have witnessed or heard about repeatedly.
To avoid confusion, could you rephrase your question?
