interpol

I just accessed the Interpol site and here's what they say about child abuse.
One may wonder why Interpol is involved with the investigation of crimes against children. Why would a criminal police organization care about children as victims of crime ?

The general perception is that the organisation is involved in the identification and tracking down of international criminals, which is exactly the very reason why we are involved with children : because the ones to victimize children are actually adults of the worst kind.

The sexual abuse of children by adults to satisfy their own perversions is a global problem, it has always taken place and with modern methods of travel and communication, people with a similar interest move from country to country to abuse children and, since the introduction of the Internet, are now able to network exchanging child pornography and information in vast quantities and in very short periods of time.

In 1989, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child passed the most popular resolution ever, which has now been adopted by more than 190 Countries, declaring that all children must be protected from all forms of abuse. Specific mention was made of sexual abuse and that that all nations should take all appropriate measures to prevent the use of children in prostitution and the production of pornography.

Interpol's involvement in the investigation of offences against children also began in 1989 following the adoption of the United Nations Convention on the rights of the Child This year, Interpol's new headquarters were inaugurated in Lyon, France, by the then President of France, François Mitterrand. During his inaugural speech he strongly denounced all forms of abuse against children. Consequently, Interpol started working on this important issue and coordinated the international fight to eradicate the exploitation of, and crimes against, children.

Children are the most vulnerable individuals in society, they are also the most precious commodity that the world has and have a right to be protected from all forms of abuse. Sadly, there are many adults in society who are all to willing to sexually exploit children either for commercial or personal gain. With the exception of this group of criminals the entire population of the world condemn this type of abuse and wish to see it obliterated from society.

Interpol as an organisation is also committed to eradicating the sexual abuse of children and have passed its own resolutions in support of this. For many years there was a feeling of disbelief that anyone would wish to sexually abuse a child but, one only has to look as far as the Internet, the medium with which Interpol is using to communicate to you, to find tens of thousands of images of children being sexually abused. Each and every one of those children is a human being with the right to be protected. They can be contacted via their website. Go for it people. Lets start making a difference and put these bastards behind bars.
