By the time I was leaving TF ('84), the sweet inspiring brother we knew disappeared into one who became a hard ass and enforcer of the rule of no-love. His wife had long left him when he forgot from whence he had came forth.
I did my tour in Tingo Maria too, it wasn't too bad once you got used to the mosquitos :-)
