Acheick: Some uses for your frozen bananas

Posted by Alan on December 20, 2003 at 09:34:49

Acheick,

Here are a couple of things you can do with those frozen bananas:

1. Make choco-bananas. Before freezing them, insert a popsicle stick into one end. After they are completely frozen, dunk them in confectioners chocolate and then put them back in the freezer until ready to eat. I especially like to use the locally-grown variety of bananas called "lady fingers." They grow in this area of Florida, and have a slightly strawberry flavor. They only measure about 4 inches in length when mature, but they make very yummy choco-bananas!

2. Make a banana shake. Put one frozen banana, a few big scoops of your favorite ice cream, and a half cup of milk into a blender and let er rip.

3. Make a flute. Drill a hole through the length of the frozen banana and then drill a series of evenly-spaced holes along its length. If you use a lady-finger banana, you'll have a piccolo! (Nah, just kidding on this one!)
