What I think of Karen Zerby & The Family

Posted by rightsized on March 08, 2004 at 11:11:36

There are approximately 6,352,000,000 human beings on the planet today. If claims of Family membership as high as 20,000 are true, that represents about .0003% of the world's population. Gideon's Band is hardly a good analogy. The number of people directly influenced by The Family is more like atomic particles on an elephant's butt.

The vast majority of human beings have never heard of The Family and its Queen. Among the atomic particles on the elephant's butt of people who HAVE heard of The Family, the majority don't give a rat's ass. Truth of the matter is, The Family isn't even on the radar screen as far as important religious & social movements go.

TF isn't in the same league as the Islamicists, who arguably have more influence on world politics than any single religious movement in the last 20 years. The Family doesn't have the political power of conservative Christian evangelicals in the United States, who can influence the outcome of presidential elections. But to hear Maria tell it, Satan devotes all his time and energy to a monumental spiritual war of epic proportions against The Family, a group with essentially NO social impact. Go figure.

Let's imagine for a moment that despite Karen Zerby's relative obscurity among 6 billion people and her virtual non-importance to the majority of people who follow world events, her claims about being THE ONE TRUE prophetess, priestess, and queen of God's elect is true.

How well is The Family doing getting out the ultimate revelation of truth to the world in this day and time? Given how important their mission is, you'd think they'd be on top of a wave sweeping the planet. Isn't that what Maria has prophesied time & again?

The average television evangelist gets the gospel message out to more people in a single day than Queen Maria has in her entire life. Every day day there are more devout Moslems who take up jihad than there are people who come in contact with The Family in a year's time. And the salvation of the world depends on Maria's revelations and the work of her followers?
