Your story of member poverty and how this created a deplorable lifestyle for children raised in the Family is a condemnation of Berg's policies! Did Berg have gold while you lived in poverty? Yes. Read James Penn's expose from "All of These Things Moved Me". I quote--

"I mentioned earlier that in my time I had handled a lot of WS money. This was one of those times. Shortly after Mo, Maria, Peter, and staff fled, Elliot, the head of WS Finances, told me that they had left behind about 500 one-ounce gold coins, worth about US$200,000. Elliot instructed us to use these coins for our budget until they ran out. The budget and expenses of our two WS Homes ran at about US$ 20,000. - a month. There was only one small problem. I had to organize the cashing of these gold coins without attracting attention. During the next two months we methodically searched out every moneychanger and bullion dealer in the area."

Think about it.

Berg had a quarter of a million dollars in gold coins in his pockets and when he had to flee to another country he didn't have a second thought about abandoning them to WS Homes for their budget. Why? Because there was lots more gold where that came from and he could line his pockets with another golden flee fund just as big.
