It's not as bad as the media makes it out to be. As far as gore, Jesus gets 39 lashes and all just like the Bible says, which lasts maybe ten minutes or less. That's probably the worst part. The crucifixion, I think you've probably seen before from the other movies about Jesus. A lot of people did cry during the movie though. It helps that I know my Bible and already knew everything that was going to happen.
