One reason for the change in the homes nomenclatures is because a lot of parents have teens that they can't control: they don't want to be members of the Family and they're considered to be a bad influence; but because they are so young, they still need to live with their parents who want to be Family members, so the MM status gives the possibility for these parents to continue to be "full" members without them having to become lowly FM members.
