thank you, Mr. Don. This is the difference between the two sides shaping up - the proud to be ashamed side, and the American and proud side. The first side assumes that anyone proud of their country cannot see the ills and problems and shameful episodes. This is propoganda they are being fed. Too bad, because it is not true, but they are so sure of themselves, they have a hard time accepting that. The real difference is, the American proud side still believes in the ideals and accomplishments and the fact that we can regret our past and present abuses and can try and make them right. That only makes me prouder, which it seems to make the first side angrier that I'm not sufferiing in shame. Pity. These are the ideals I am arguing about, not to a person or persons. The person who says he/she knows me was very involved in this thread and continued it on as much as I did, yet wants me to stop now and points out they know who I am. Was that supposed to scare me? Fine, say who I am. I don't say it, because I want to debate principles, I don't want to debate people and turn it pesonal, but this other person wants to, so I will quit now as the point of the discussion has now been lost.
