Hi Acheick. I've only posted a couple comments on this site so far, so you and the other regulars here don't know much about me, but I think there may be ways in which I can be helpful, both in a general way on this site and specifically in my city. I recently earned a law degree and I am willing to help anyone I can with the particular skills I have, both ex-members and current members who want to leave.

I have intended to post more details about myself on this site, but I have only recently turned to face my past cult life after 13 years of trying to forget it. This initial stage is an extremely emotional and confusing one for me, especially after reading things like the Ward judgement and the James Penn articles, so I've taken a cautious approach to posting on this site. I still intend to post an article summarizing my life in TF and my approach upon leaving in 1991, which a counsellor referred to yesterday as "self-deprogramming". I'm not quite ready to write that yet, but I'm responding to your appeal for volunteers in the event that there is something I could do to help.

What I'm thinking is that I could provide you here with an email address to contact me at. I could then provide you with any necessary information you need to verify both my credentials and my intentions. I could then be a resource for you if an urgent situation arises where you think I could be of some assistance. This would be just a temporary measure, in the event of an emergency, until I'm able to post my article and provide contact info for anyone who would like to contact me directly.

This idea is just a gut reaction to your post, so perhaps it's not well thought out. It may also be an inappropriate suggestion. I've never participated in chat boards before so I'm just learning the proper etiquette. Perhaps some will find this approach offensive, I don't know. In any event, I just couldn't ignore your call for help.

I hope to post an article in the next couple months, but in the meantime, if you think I might be of some assistance I can be reached at pbullwinkle@shaw.ca
