I remember those. It saved having to talk and sure increased donations but I never could bring myself to use them. I've seen others do it tho.
One guy insisted a sister talk to him, so she pointed to her mouth, shook her head and made strange sounds. She talked normally again afterwards when she was laughing telling me about it.
