The Family can never reform because any meaningful reform would necessitate acknowledging the abuses of the past, being willing to explore ways of compensating victims, and embedding structures that ensure accountability at all levels. Maria and Peter would never agree to any of this, as their power would be diminshed, if not eliminated.

Take Maria and Peter out of the picture and the Family would cease to exist in its present form. And why would anyone want to rebuild on their foundation -- 35 years of horror and abuse. Why not literally disband the group and start a new one, without all the baggage of the past?

So I see absolutely no chance of any kind of meaningful reform. Maria and Peter will die first. Let's hope their death is soon.
