I posted that before I read your post to Susie below.

If the principles of "extraodinary respect" and "no personal attacks" (I would include in that no preaching to unbelievers) are strictly applied to the Journeys board then it might go a long way to assuaging Susie's and other's concerns.

As Susie does, I stay away from Kathy's Corner out of respect for the people there (though I'm sure some there don't believe I'm capable of giving respect). That's their space to discuss their issues. In the same way, I think people with extreme religious views (those that deny all other views, insisting their's is the only truth) should stay away from Journeys, or at the very least refrain from directing their comments to any poster who is obviously an unbeliever. If an exmember struggling with their faith wishes Christian advice they know they have the option of Kathy's Corner. If they choose, instead, to post on Journeys, it seems to me they are implying that they are seeking non-Christian viewpoints. And exmembers who have discarded religious faith certainly don't want or need Christian views or advice, we've had our fill of that. So there would be no valid reason for Christians who are certain of their truth, and therefore their journey is already all mapped out for them, to post on the Journeys board. Their journey is, but for the dying, complete.

I guess all I'm really trying to say is that of all the chat boards, Journeys should be the one where personal views, especially non-religious, non-spiritual views are accorded the most respect by those who disagree. It should be a place where non-believers can discuss their personal journey without being put down, ridiculed, vilified or preached at.
