I think the biggest problem with all of this is incomplete information. All of us only know part of what went on, and we tend to fill in the holes with our imagination.

For example, we are told that Kathy asked to close her board, but we aren't told why. So, some of us imagine that she was just tired of running it. Others imagine that she was harassed into closing it.

We are interested in this as a group, because we feel we have come to know these people. I know that for me, Achieck was one of the first people I exchanged messages with when I posted my very first message on a now defunct board run by the author of "Heaven's Harlots". I'm not even sure how long ago that was.

When people we think we know just up and leave, it is natural to whant to know why. But, we are prevented from knowing why by agreements of confidentiality that exist. I think that most of us understand why those agreements exist, and feel that they are valid. But, it is still upsetting when things change, and we are prevented from knowing the whole story.

I don't really have an answer for this. But, I do know that it isn't helpful to jump to conclusions based on incomplete information. But, I've done it myself. I've probably done it in this situation.
