We aren't really running any emotionally charged forums at NDN anymore. It's pretty safe for Coordinators to post under their own name now.

But, when we had Crossfire going, that was a whole other thing. It was so emotionally draining on whoever was stuck with that forum, that we finally made it a rotating duty. Administrative posts were posted by "Crossfire Coordinator". Sometimes it might be me, sometimes it might be somebody else.

At the same time, we could post under our regular names, as long as we weren't posting from an administrative point of view.

In the past some people have gotten upset with me for constantly listing my experience in things. I don't do it to brag about my past. It's just that I've run online forums every day for going on 22 years. Almost nobody else in the online world can say that. It doesn't mean that I know everything, it just means that I've made a lot more mistakes doing this than anyone else. I've tried to learn from them.

The years have shown me that the most important thing is to have clear and fair guidelines, and to enforce them without predjudice. Coordinators have to operate at a high level of integrity, or it just doesn't work.

I'm not trying to point a finger at anyone at this website. The worst case of abuse of authority I ever saw during my entire time being online happened at NDN. Fortunately, that situation is in the distant past.
