I left by my own accord. For many years I thought that all who claimed having left or not being in TF anymore were clear away from Berg's teachings. To me those two things were the same thing. To my chagrin I discovered fairly recently that it is not so. Many were asked to leave and yet others who severed their relationship with TF still clinged to some or most or all of Berg's teachings.

In fact, many of the popular names in the boards still have a strong inclination to support Berg's doctrines. Also, in recent months I have had contact with people who told me they are not in TF when in fact what they do and say clearly denies it.

I have come to believe that TF has an initiative that is actively looking around for ex members who can be enticed into becoming a source of support and defense. Sort of an strategic buffer zone between the vandari and their evil teachings.

I may have veered away from you initial question but I think my answer is related. If not, please forgive me.

To simply answer your question: many were asked to leave, some for good reason (they should not have been accepted in the first place, weak sisters, freak cases, etc.) and others because they were an economic burden. I base this answer in my informal conversation and reading of posts for many years now.
