Now and then I have contact with a family who's FM, they already had 6 kids when they were told they had to become TSers, now they have 8. In those days, when they were given the boot from the DO family, TSers were not supposed to have any kind of communication with the DO family and vice versa, even though the TSers tithed 10%. A lot of people were told to leave the DO family, even to the separation of husbands and wives and children. The unyielded husband or the wife going to TS status was told to take the supposedly rebellious unyielded children with them. These decisions were left up to local leadership and completely arbitrary.

What I cannot understand for the life of me is how this family still tithes 10% of their meager income after the way they were treated and after all these years? The husband finally got a full time job, the unemployment office forced him too. But after all these years they still need donations from various charities to get by and I find their quality of life to be rather low.

As a byline: We know another FM who comes to the area we live from time to time. She only recently became FM. She's someone who's spent her life in the DO/CM now called the FD (Family Disciple) family. However she has been diagnosed with some chronic physical ailments, and couldn't keep up with the FD or the MM requirements, so she's out on her own now, with no job qualifications, no physical support from the Family, and living on public assistance. What kind of religious organization has absolutely nothing to offer people, who've given their entire lives to it, who've run into physical impairments, except to require a 10% tithe from them if they want to remain a token mail correspondent member?
