What I've observed is that the vast majority of people who celebrate Christmas today do it in a very secular manner.
Putting up a tree, decorating it with lights, putting lights on the house, and buying each other presents really has nothing to do with the Christian religion.
I can see this kind of reaction if someone comes in here preaching that "Jesus is the reason for the season". But, I think that this sort of reponse to "Happy Xmas" is a bit over the top.
The thing you risk is making people afraid to post because they aren't sure what they might write that will violate the code of political correctness.
