The reporter probably didn't have time to do enough fact checking before the deadline.
I've been interviewed a lot, and it almost never comes out even close to what you said.
It's also very difficult to explain to someone who has never heard about The Family, just what the history is. It is so strange, that they tend to kind of glaze over.
I was trying to explain LJR to a Catholic Priest one time, and after my lenghty, detailed explaination, he looked back and said, "So, they are trying to say it is okay to masturbate?". That's all that sunk in.
