I have a copy of the L.A. Times. They didn't publish it on the website, but the actual article has a photo of Ricky from the video. He is seated at a table holding what looks like a black handled Buck knife with a 6" blade.
The caption is:
"MESSAGE: Richard Rodriguez, in a videotape recorded before his suicide, describes his desire for revenge. "This is my weapon of choice," he says of a knife."
