Anderson Cooper 360

Posted by Acheick on January 18, 2005 at 20:59:54

I just watched that and my hands are still shaking. I have to say, God bless James Penn for standing up to the monster and telling the truth. Whatever differences we have ever had, I have complete and utter respect for James Penn and what he is doing. I know this had to be hard for him. And Daniel, the poor boy, having to be interviewed like that and tell the world what happened to him. That takes guts. But boy, that Claire Borowitch - she is the perfect hard-ass leader and liar. Anderson Cooper was right on it though, he kept asking her if she had ever turned anyone in for child abuse and she tried to sidestep the issue and claim that was the parents' responsibility. He said, "but you just claimed you were a group with your own internal workings - like the Catholic church." She just kept avoiding the issue and trying to put the responsibility on the parents and the kids. Yeah right, like a little kid is going to go to some big stuff leader and say "Uncle so and so" is abusing me. And what would they say? Oh, he's just trying to be loving with you, or we'll talk to him, or whatever. And what would they do? Excom him and then let him come back after he "learned his lesson." She's such a liar and in this case, that is lying, because she knows that's not the truth. Just let me have that woman, one on one, in the same room. She wouldn't last 5 min. with me. I'm talking about debate wise, so don't get your panties in a bunch, any F. people reading this. Oh, and more on Claire - how about this from SamA:

Family spokeswoman Clair Borrowich wrote that “sexual contact between adults and minors has been an excommunicable offense since 1986.”

I personally do not know if it is at this time that sex of adults with minors became an excommunicable offence, or if this happened later. What I know however is that child adult sex continued to a lesser degree into the nineties.

If the information in the following posts is true, not only Borrowich knew that there was child adult sex past 1986, but that she was involved with minors sexually herself past that year.

A former member using the pseudonym “Someone” posted the following: “I wonder why Claire was not excommunicated when she had sex with boys aged from 13 to 15 in 1987 in Buenos Aires.” (Excognet, [5/31/1999])

Another message said: “I know of several people doing PR for the Family who themselves participated in the activities they now deny ever happened or who at least witnessed and even encouraged such abuses. A good example is Claire Borrowick, who I understand is now an official Family spokesperson. . . . While Borrowick was probably not an extreme offender, she did participate in some of these adult-child sex activities and not only tolerated it but actively encouraged it. This was from about 1986-1988 when she and her husband Cacho were in charge of the teen combo in Buenos Aires, Argentina. For example, she had sex with 12-15 year old boys on several occasions. She was also responsible for the weekly ‘sharing’ schedule that often paired teens with adults old enough to be their parents. I know of several instances where this schedule resulted in activity that was not consensual. The most she ever did in such situations was to not pair the involved parties again. While she was in charge of this home, there were also some disturbing somewhat long-term adult-child sexual relationships going on. For example, in one case a 14-year old boy had a long term sexual relationship with a married woman in her late thirties. When her husband complained, Borrowick told him to ‘get the victory’ and stop being jealous and of course never did anything to stop the situation. This continued well after the supposed absolute ban on adult-child sex in mid-1987.” (Ned Flanders, Excognet, [4/19/1999])
