A very insightful post -- Thank you for posting it, and thank you for risking yourself to speak out. It costs something.

The SGAs are shamed by what happened to them, and we are shamed by what we were part of. All my FGA friends are deeply depressed right now -- for so many reasons. I have been out for many years and I feel terribly terribly dirty and shameful.

But the truth must come out for any lasting change to take place. We owe it to these SGAs to do what we can.

I am very aware that many people cannot speak publicly. I think Achiek gets it right. We have to respect our children and many other considerations. We have to above all see that no further harm takes place.

But each of us can do something, even if it is encouraging all those who are speaking out. And I think most people are.

I think a critical mass of truth is nearing completion.

I feel that for FGAs the next several months could be quite painful as this plays out in the public eye. But the long term benefits of reducing the influence of the Family, possibly seeing acknoeldgement of the crimes committed, and seeing healing for the SGAs will outweigh our short term pain.

Maybe 8 or 10 years from now things will be a lot better. We must dare to hope so and work towards that goal.

Thanks again for this thread. Very thoughtful. Don't be a stranger, Anon John.
