I was hoping someone would step up to the plate and make this argument.

This probably is a dog that won't hunt; in which case, investigative reporters are not going to pick it up--at least, not until more evidence surfaces.

Given the circumstances that compelled Rick to relocate in Tuscon, it is not unreasonable or unfair to ask questions about the relationship between the Zerby family and leadership of The Family International. Asking whether over half a million dollars in cash came from Berg in the 1980s is not an unfair or irresponsible question.

If the Deyos or Zerbys want to explain where all that cash listed in the public record came from, that would be a very good way for them to close further open speculation about their property and history of business dealings in Tuscon.

I have no interest in destroying or bringing down The Family International. I would like to see the Family's leadership removed. Barring that, I want to see their unlimited and unquestioned power reigned in enough to support a higher standard of fiscal accountability to the Family's tithing membership. For that reason, I have no problem asking blunt questions about why extended family members of the organization's leadership appear to have prospered in ways that are inconsistent with what one might expect to be the humble rewards of pastoral ministry.
