We all compartmentalized the strange stuff & wished it would go away, wrapped it in a bundle of faith & put it on a shelf. That's what they said to do & like the idiots we were, we did it. The idea was basically, 'push any doubts out ofyour mind, don't even think about them.'
But after a while you simply can't help but think about them unless you stuff them down so deep.
I guess those still in the cult were more successful at deceiving themselves & have stuffed the issues down so deep they still can't deal with them or acknowledge them.
