As an FG who has posted on MovingOn without receiving abuse, also the fact that I have an SG daughter who is a member of the Movingon SG community, I feel obligated to come to Movingon's defense.

Movingon has always had a place where FGs have been invited to dialogue. Go to the page getting out: generations where it says: “Part of being born and raised in the Family was having thousands of "uncles" and "aunties". The generation that founded and perpetuated the Family had a profound effect on all of our lives. This section is for dialogue with the first generation.” If some FGs have had negative reactions to comments they posted on Movingon they probably posted in the wrong place at the wrong time. I’ve posted there and I was well received. I did not have to “grovel for all the sins of the FGA's” I simply spoke for myself and apologized for what I did personally. Glad I did too it did me tons of good and it improved my relationship with my children too.

We have to remember that usually the kids know their parents better than the parents know themselves. SGs were raised by not just one set of parents but by a whole slew of uncles and aunties too, proxy parents, so it’s probably accurate to say that in general SGs know FGs better than we know ourselves.
