A question about future funding

Posted by Oldtimer on March 13, 2005 at 00:47:45

This is a question for Jules or John LaMattery Sr. or Sarafina or anyone who knows or has a thought on the matter.

I'm thankful some money came in and my wife and I could give something toward Ricky's memorial service, and I think if there are future urgent needs we would like to give as well. But someone raised a question a while ago. What about the corporations who gave tens of thousands of dollars to FCF, but have now been warned that FCF is a Family front and won't be giving to them anymore? Can someone approach them and present the need and ask them to give to those they should have been funding all along -- the cult's survivors? Or approach other corporations?

Is Safe Passage Foundation set up yet to receive donations and issue tax deductible receipts? Or the Choose Life Foundation? If neither of these are up and running yet, when are they expected to be? And is there another way to skin the cat and get corporations to give money and funnel donations to some really needy people?

I think it's good that each of us gave what we could for Ricky's memorial, but there are more needs that will need serious influxes of cash, the kind corporations can give. Maybe I'm not saying anything new you folks haven't already thought about, but I wanted to raise the question in case some real money-savvy people might have some suggestions.
