Congratulations on getting out!

You should realistically rule out buying a house if you have no funds right now. Most couples in society at large have to rent for a minimum of 5 years before they save up the money & build up the credit ratings to qualify for a mortgage -- tho things have changed in recent years with 0% down. But renting is no big deal in the meantime.

What part of the States are you thinking of moving to & what kind of job skills do you have? Handyman, computer, sales? Do you have a resume' together? Check out online on how to put together a resume'.

As for furniture you can get quality used stuff in thrift stores. Same thing for clothing. You can clothe your kids in new, practically brand-name clothing at thrift stores if you put time into shopping.

If you still have Christian faith, you'll find that a lot of churches are more than happy to help in practical ways with a large struggling family. Many of them could care less, but you'll be surprised at how a lot of them are really into helping people. Not only with free things, but with lots of advice & helpful tips.

You're going to have to get your kids in school too unless you home school. Hope you get lots of good advice. Again congrats on getting out.
