Sigh! I hate endless back and forth debates, but someone pointed out that I am at least obliged to explain this to you. If you wish to reply to this, please do so, but I will not continue this thread.

Yes, Perry, self-criticism is not a negative thing. If you are exercising self criticism, but having an edge is not negative, then what is it you are criticising? (Please, that was just rhetorical!)

"Hypocritical" was not a word I chose. I just maintain that in your eagerness to debate and be right about all things you want it both ways.

If you wish to demonstrate you hard edges as a "sign that I have left conformist, cultish thinking behind," kindly do so away from the Academic board, do it here. I maintain that nobody else displayed any hard edges like you did, and that is not welcome on that board.

You were not censored. Your posts were moved here for further discussion. Incidentally, your posts to Monika were left untouched. Your posts to Suggestion were moved here. If either Suggestion or Monika wish to continue discussing this, they can do so here.

About the academic researcher vs. student point, all you need to do is look past her title and at her research style. There is something to what HG posted, as well as the post by Suggestion titled "Some thoughts."

Hope that helps you understand where I am coming from and what was behind the action. Again, I didn't write any of this to continue an endless debate.

All the best,

WC
