I knew them well. My oldest child and their oldest were playmates as little babies. The other family - whom she gave the baby too - is mostly here in the states, but because of their connection to their brother who is actually the half brother of Morningstar's (Elaine) children, they stayed connected. Sadly, one of their sons, I believe, died of a drug overdose a couple of days before the memorial. His half-brother was so devasted he couldn't come to the memorial. It was so hard to talk to his brother, I saw so much pain. I tried to help him learn how to grieve and he asked me how long that would take, I felt so sad for him. My daughter kept inviting him to be a part of our family, she was so cute. She took him under her wing sort of. Anyway, from talking to his mom (the adoptive mom) she told me that some of the children of Elaine are extremely bitter against her and Elaine is not doing well and now this. So please, try to go easy here, people are getting their payback and it is not pleasant for anyone. These offspring have so much pain to deal with, let's not make it harder for them even if their parents are "morons" - or seem to have had some sort of lobotomy. When I knew Morningstar, she was not like that at all. There are no winners here.
